Chassis #99 been on the road for about 5 years now. Car has had a lot of changes and upgrades since I posted pics of it so I figured I would share what it looks like now
I don't think you can go wrong with either one of the zfr turbos. I do think the 6758 did hit full boost just a tad sooner tho. When i had one turbo lag felt non existent. It spooled to around 24psi at about 3800 rpm on
On the Lnf motor it has cam phasers that i was under the impression you couldn't really go over 7300 with them so that's where I had my tuner set the limiter. Maybe im wrong and it can go higher
Thanks, it's an lnf with a zfr7163 and all the zzp goodies. Zzp pistons & rods, zzp ported head and 82lb valve springs, nuetral balance shafts, ati damper and on e85. Makes about 480 on 24 psi
This is my best run on the street so far. Haven't been to a track yet but my car has a 4.45 final drive with 275-40r17 tires and currently I'm on the limiter at 7300 in 4th at the end of the quarter so 130mph is the limit for me in the quarter.
No the fitting that pulls vacuum from the valve cover is missing and needs to be replaced. I had to borrow it for my new turbo because I accidentally broke the one on the 7163 I bought
Turbo only has 2,500 miles on it. No shaft play and is in good working condition. Comes with oil and coolant lines. Only thing needed to install is a new fitting for the vacuum line going to valve cover. Oil leaked from somewhere on first start and stained the exhaust housing but stopped after...
From my experience and what I have read on the forums is the main advantage to a zfr vs a z54/57 is turbo response. Zfr is ball bearing vs journal bearing. I believe they make aabout the same hp
