Yes to all of the above! Resistance is....resistance and it rarely helps, mostly hurts. Nice fat, clean ground wire battery to frame and from engine block to frame. There can be a smaller ground wire off the negative battery clamp to the frame, carefully check if it is hot! (It' not supposed to...
A thought: Rear brakes do very little of the braking so they probably don't actually get too hot, so hi temp brake spray paint will possibly endure the heat.
This is a right place to post that! You Lucky Dog! Like that comedian says. "Ain't nuthin' wrong with that!!" You make him proud doing things and making dreams happen....."Now bring me that far horizon!"
My inspiration for this shifter is the DF one and pix of the last two MR2 shifter designs. They are very similar designs, the shifter ball is virtually on the floor and the L/R lever is now pointing up by the driver's leg(instead of down. I wished I could have just flipped the L shaped lever...
I also have GTStory's LHU engine, it is not a Cobalt block but fits, I would be interested in a package deal as well. This unit has a clear title in my name. It's not in my way and I can always part it out. For the next year it is going to just sit unless it sells. I have plenty in the runway...
#1 Are these all LED's? LED's hate bad / excessive resistance at ground. Easy check, run a 10* jumper to their ground direct from the -(neg) battery post. Also check the neg cable and where it bolts to the frame and engine.............A bad ground example; 1989, a 15 y/o Pantera. It came in for...
This wire terminates in the lg red bulk connector at the BCM. I would have to go back and watch the wiring video but I expect the mate to the black plug(on the Red w/Blk wire coming off that orange fuse) connects to it's mate(that was shortened) near the red BCM cluster plug or is in a bundle of...
I believe that is the main power supply to the BCM. It is the secondary wire coming off the batt + going through the huge orange fuse and then???(Darn, I don't have a wiring diagram! I cannot remember for sure and do not want to mislead anyone.) On every model of Cobalt it goes to the same...
That shifter is from a Cavalier. I chopped the. bottom of the lever off below the ball and welded a U on the shift lever equal height above the ball. The left/ right lever that formerly pointed down I cut off below the pivot and welded it above its original position. I cut the original body...
Notice the missing 1/4 glass. I’ll try to take some shots of under the bonnet today. Not much to see. Looks are not the goal so looks are far down on the to do list.
This is the 08 SS I bought. It has a minor engine compartment fire and then it was beaten with a 2X4. I DO have a title to it, so I suppose I’ll use it for my next victim. I’ll sell most of the SS specific stuff off of it. I may fit this unit with an S/C Buick and 5 speed. Currently...
I worry about the efficacy of “the chicken sacrifice” in general terms. Though I feel I’ve bought some middle ground between dancing naked around a bonfire on the night of a full moon, body painted with its blood with my more civilized dining on it with iced tea, tasty sides, ample hand wipes...
Is there some kit to place the shock towers you cut away or are you just going to fab something? In my book it appears there is much suspension science and pitfalls based on shock placement. Not sayin’ it’s impossible but that’s a can of worms I try to avoid.
My stuff is on hold with home/shop/RV pad building. But little things get done every few days. Plumbing my coolant transfer pipes and hoses is next on my list, sadly not today!:( But every week something gets done.;) I have moved it around but no brakes, no parking brake and my funky(works...
I just had to bump this up. I can't wait to see this Explorer go!........... My stuff is on hold with home/shop/RV pad building. But little things get done every few days.
Pix and time slips or it didn't happen. Been hearing the Honda contingent talking for about 6+ years now, still no Honda Goblin. I don't worry, as we all gotta dream! I just haven't seen any results, yet. Party on Wayne! Party on Garth!
But then again GT you have a depth of experience and hands on experience many builders can only aspire to. I was calibrated at a grunt was 30ft# in my earlier years, now 30# is about a grunt.25. I guess I'm getting old.;)
I've not done a Goblin rewire but I believe this connector is just being eliminated and you just match each to it's mate across to the other side of where you cut out the big multi-connector........ Tan and Tan w/ stripe pairs are the Hi Speed LAN and their circuit must stay complete even if...
PS: It is hard to worry about the paint or giving it a wash when I can't seem to get the brakes bled. I'm hoping it is a bad master. Brake system has been sitting(possibly dry) for two years.;)
