We loved building the car and have really enjoyed using it for the past year, but our situation is changing and we need the garage space. (Maybe we'll go at it again when the next version comes out?)
2.2 NA engine from a 2005 automatic donor. Transmission fluid has a small leak from the hose...
Thanks!
I think we've only driven about 1,000 miles this past year. We just like toodling around town in it. Lots of comments. Lots of stares. Lots of fun.
Still having problems with the pictures. They're great, but too big to upload it turns out. Need to downsize them. Hopefully I'll...
We never posted pictures of our "finished" Goblin, so here they are. We finished the end of September 2023 and were registered and insured early October. Just been puttering around in it since then ;) (sorry, problem uploading images. Will get the rest in later today.)
I asked this question just over a year ago and now I have a registered working goblin.
The forum told me basically what they are telling you... you can probably do it, but it won't necessarily be easy.
My son and I took this on and we managed to make it through, but there are definitely times...

Well, we finished up (as much as a goblin is ever finished. Too many little details to improve on) last month. Took us almost exactly a year.
Got it registered and insured. . . both adventures to be sure.
Got about 200 miles on it now. Just finished in time for the season to wind down...
Also, how are people attaching the hood? Obviously, the bolts go through the brackets attached to the frame by the steering wheel, but are there other attachment points like down by the radiator? Will it stay in place with just the two bolts by the steering wheel?
and are there any guidelines...
OK, so I talked to DF and they said that they make the brackets for more of an offset for custom wheels?
So they said if I run stock wheels, I need spacers and they are sending me some.
That’s what I’m wondering. We ordered the staggered set with the small fenders upfront and the large fenders in back and I wonder if they sent us the wrong mounts for the front.
I sent them a message about it yesterday with Photos. I’m waiting to hear back.
Hey all, getting to the finish line here.
A question about the front fenders . . .
We attached the brackets and the arms are too far away for the tire to line up properly. These are stock SS cobalt rims that we are using. Any ideas? Did we get sent the wrong support arms? Have we...
Thanks for trying. I appreciate anybody who responds. It’s always very helpful.
I finally found the answer and it’s my own inexperience and foolishness.
I was combining my brake light wire, and my turn signal wire, and then joining them with the wire for the brake light.
All this was doing...
That makes sense.
so I went to the back, and I disconnected the brake/turn wire to the tail light. I connected them one at a time.
When the brake wire is connected, the braking works properly. When I press the brake, the brake light comes on when I let go the brake brake light turns off. Then...
I pressed the brake pedal, and then I used my finger to press the switch back in to the fully seated position, and the brake light still did not turn off in the rear.
Also, I just hooked the automatic shifter back up and now when the left turn signal is on something in the shifter is flipping...
