Your’s doesn’t have that click? Mine always clicked at the start and stop of the fuel priming before I start it. The amount of clicking in the video is the fuel priming turning on and off. It coincides with the fuel gauge dropping, check engine light and power steering warning.
Thank you, that gives me a little hope…. Will I be able to see which pins are loose or failing? I’ve never repined wires, is it pretty straight forward? Is there a need for any special tools?
Here’s some videos, you can see why i think it’s electrical. Sometimes I adjust something or clean something and I think i found the problem and then the next day it’s back to this.
I wish I had time to work on this…. Just frustrated and too much going on. I think I need to find a shop or someone who can help me figure this out. Some days I think I found the right connection by cleaning or reseating plugs…. It will start, sometimes will run and warm up but then dies soon...
That didn’t last long… it’s back. Tried to do everything I did last time and no difference. Plan forward is just to check and recheck every wire connection.
I really appreciate all of the help. I’m learning with every step of Goblin build and ownership..
I’ve been going through every plug and ground around the back of the Goblin a few times. Trying to be systematic and check to see if the problem is worse or better frequently. This morning I did...
When the fuel gauge is working and the fuel primes it starts fine. It would stay running though. It‘s like whatever is happening is cutting power to the fuel system. All I can think to do it to continue rechecking all the wire connectionS more thoroughly. If there is a battery issue it would...
Attached are pictures from my scan tool from this morning. It has codes P0452 and P0449
I tried the battery test through the scan tool and it said that battery was good.
I’m new to using a scan tool so I welcome any tips.
It’s been driving fine this past year. I don’t drive it a lot, but it hasn’t been sitting.
Bad fuel is a thought, but would that make the check engine light flickers? Could be a clogged line? Thing is, sometimes it starts up fine and then shut off.
Well…. The problem seems to be back. Not sure what I’m going to do. I drove it up my street and it cut off on me. Managed to get it started and made it back home but then it cut off again and wouldn’t start back up.
I tried checking the relay again and wiring. All seems to be the same.
Can’t...
It started!!!
I’m not confident what I did to fix it…. I got a relay tester and tested the fuel pump relay and two others that I thought might be involved in startup…. The tester cycles the relays 10 time and then gives a green light if the relays are good. They were all good. I also remove...
The battery voltage stayed the same…. Did you want me to check at the battery again too and compare the two locations?
To be sure I went through and checked every fuse in both fuse boxes. All are good.
I had another suggestion to check under the fuse box for any corrosion or loose plugs…. I...
I haven’t had a chance to run a wire from the battery negative to the back. My garage is still in boxes
But I try connecting from the ground under the fuse box and the positive at the fuse box and there wasn’t a change when I put it in run. It was ready 12.3 or 12.2.
I did check the ground under the fuse box and it didn’t look bad. I sanded the contacts any way and re assembled. I didn’t do that to all of the ground points in the car, but I did check ground continuity.
All of the codes say History|Current except for the code “C0845-01 ; Control Module Ignition 1 On And Start Circuit - Short To Battery” which just says History.
I’ve cleared the codes and tried to start again(same result) and then scanned for codes again….
Here’s the list:
PSCM - Power Steering Control Module
U2105-00 ; Lost Communication With Engine Control Module
C0845-01 ; Control Module Ignition 1 On And Start Circuit - Short To Battery
BCM - Body...
I didn’t have a lot of time to work on anything lately. I just wanted to get the codes. I should have some time tomorrow to try your suggestion.
I appreciate the advice.
thank you
