I checked continuity between the C3 pins and the actual connector pins and they were good. I then plugged in the sensor and tested continuity between both of the pins on the C3 connector and it gave me continuity with some resistance which makes sense.
Thank you for that link, didn't realize that was out there.
I looked through the 2.0 and 2.2 and neither of them had what I was looking for. Only thing I saw was on C2 for the 2.2 on pin 66 was the crank position sensor but I know that makes no sense for my setup.
I just do not understand how...
So I was just going through some more stuff and decided to look closer at my coolant temperature sensor and I figured out that instead of being connected at pin 55 like the diagram says my wire is yellow wire is connected to pin 66 which makes no sense to me as the diagram says that pin is...
Also I forgot to mention when I unplug the coolant temperature sensor plug, the reading at idle stays at 106 and does not change even if I plug it back in. This leads me to believe its something further down the line with the CAN system.
Hello everyone,
I recently pulled the engine out of my car and trimmed down the engine harness as well as rewrapped some parts. While doing so I must have either knocked something loose out of its socket or cut an incorrect wire.
Currently the car is running and driving but the engine does not...
A little update with my Goblin:
I got it down to Utah! Its great because I am keeping it about 10 minutes from Utah Motorsports campus which does amateur track days on Wednesday nights along with autocross. They aren't that expensive so I have gone twice now and have another 2 more track days...
Got in contact with AEM support and basically learned that the dash cannot interact with J1850 VPW in any way and only does ISO 15765-4. My 2006 cobalt is on the J1850 protocol so unfortunately it wont work for me. I am going to keep it as a lap timer and a secondary CAN device for monitoring...
Hello Everyone,
I found a cheap used AEM CD5 dash and bought it and I am now trying to connect it. I was wondering if anyone had already mapped out all of the different CAN channels in a DBC file? I have looked through the forum and have not found anyone that has uploaded one.
If there isn't...
I already have 80# injectors and a higher LPH fuel pump.
The ZZP ported head says it comes with 82# valve springs and titanium retainers so I was thinking that should cover the valvetrain things.
I will definitely look into a boost referenced fuel system.
Thank you for the info!
Hello everyone,
I plan on building my 2.4l Ecotec motor and just wanted some confirmation on my build list.
I am planning on purchasing the ZZP LE5 ported head then sticking there LE5 performance cams in it.
I am planning to get JE forged pistons and ZZP 2.4l forged rods.
Finally for the other...
I am pretty sure the intercooler pump is working because I can see the coolant moving and hear it running when the key is turned. I am not sure if I have a dual pass endplate or not but I will check that later today. It could also be an engine health issue. Besides a leakdown test what other...
Yesterday we had our first track day with the car. It went surprisingly well aside from a few more minor issues. We went up to Brainerd International Raceway and drove the 2.5 mile course.
It was a really fun day and I learned a lot as this was my first time on track. There were a couple of...
This issue ended up being resolved a while back I just never posted the reason.
The ecu ended up being completely fried and had to be replaced. My mechanic ended up figuring this out after getting his head close to the ecu to try to find wiring and he smelt something burnt. It ended up being...
I didn’t get many great photos of it while it was still on the car but here they are.
some of the photos are from before I sanded and polished and I still need to do more especially with the splitter in its current state.
Hello everyone it has been quite a while. Life got in the way and honestly I have been procrastinating making a post.
The issue of the car not starting and many of the electrical issues has been fixed (not all but at least it runs and drives). I dropped it off with my trusted mechanic and he...
I think I am going to call up my friend and see what he thinks, he might know someone else too that could help in person. Kind of a crazy idea that probably wouldn't work but the Chevy dealer probably knows the ins and outs of the cobalt so if they somehow accepted to service it they could maybe...
Just saw your response Gtstorey. The thing is I am not very good at understanding all of wiring but I think I will give it a go. I do have a friend that owns a shop that is pretty good with electrical stuff and if I really cannot figure it out I might end up dropping it with him.
