Autocross for newbies

Just looked at the SCCA PAX calculator if AM class (which sets pax) runs a 45 sec raw time. In EM you would have to run a 49.1 sec raw time to win. While if you run in XU you would only need to run a 51.6. Raw time. That’s a 2.5 second difference. I think I’m going to switch to XU this year. With what I’ve been reading about the new 200TW tires it’s worth the switch

XU did just get nerfed more about a week ago, not sure if the calculator was updated yet but I still think the switch is worthwhile. A friend of mine that is on the vitour tire team says the new P1 X-01R is supposed to be more light car friendly than the original P1

That’s what the PAX calculator is set at. Just did it for a 60 sec run. The difference is crazy. 60 sec raw AM would be a 65.502 EM and XU would be 68.807. I think I’m going to switch this year. When running last year running slightly faster than some of the CAM cars but getting my but kicked in PAX. at least in XU I’d have some sort of chance
