V1 Chattering relays when trying to start

I had the electric system up and running, lights, etc., and the starter would crank the engine. I put gas in it and cranked for a while, fingers slipped on the key, and when I cranked it again I got relay chatter from the bcm and from the ecm, and of course the starter did not turn over. Battery tests good. What is my next step?

It still sounds like a battery or battery connection problem or you cooked the starter by cranking it to much. How long was a "while" and have you tried jumping with another battery?

Check your grounds also.

It's recommended to jump the fuel pump relay (like you did to empty the tank during tear down) to prime the pump and fuel system (based on the assembly videos). This way you're not cooking the starter.

That sounds likely. When it stopped it was suddenly. I don't think it's the battery; I tried to jump it and no difference.

Ground issue. Make sure you have removed ALL paint & powder coat from ground lugs. Very important. Good luck !

Even easier is to turn the key to “run” and it’ll cycle the fuel pump for 3 seconds. Turn the ignition off, wait a few seconds and back to “run” again. Do this about 3-4 times them try to start.

I had this issue. After checking/tightening the three 7mm bolts in the BCM that hold the electrical block in place, and the seven 7mm bolts in the bottom of the fusebox that also hold in electrical connector blocks, it started working correctly.
