Getting ready to pull the trigger starting with the engine

Nothing is bulletproof, I run my race motor turned down for traction and reliability purposes. 600whp on a properly built engine should last you at least a year or two at max boost before you'd start to see any issues. Engines fatigue over time its just part of it.

I run mine at 400whp at track days when I'm just testing and 450whp-500whp range currently at events when winning becomes important. I would run 600whp at Hillclimb's if I could make it stick. I'm making progress, but 450 is where it starts fighting me and misbehaving and 500 is sideways at about every straight on the unprepped mountain roads. 400whp is more than enough especially if you're not on slicks

With that being said, A built race motor like I'm running will be very happy under 500whp for a long time. Eventually though it'll need a freshen up like anything would. If you don't mind freshening a motor every 2 years, you can run a stock LSJ long block and make 4-500whp for a good while. Albeit not as reliably as the race motor, but still gets the job done.

The reason I built my motor wasn't for sheer hp, but for peace of mind. Last thing you want is a motor grenade at a high speed braking zone sending you to the trees.

My thoughts and expectations exactly. Could you share your build specs? I would love to pick your brain!
Thanks,
Tim
