V1 Heat Exchanger

I haven’t found very much explaining the installation of the heat exchanger. Looks like it’s mounted under the radiator and then the white pipes hook up to it with the help of the Z shaped pipe. What lines hook up from the engine? I am pretty sure it’s the two identified in these pics but just want to be sure. Where does the small hose in my hand go?

That pipe in your hand is the coolant overflow. Normally the cap will hold up to ~5psi pressure, and never need venting, but if the system goes beyond that pressure, it can dump coolant out that pipe... onto the road.
As far as the 2 lines going to the front heat exchanger, one goes to the coolant pump (in your 2nd picture), and the other goes to the intercooler manifold, which is about 8" above the coolant pump, integrated into the bottom of the intake manifold. Just follow the output hose from the pump, it leads to the intercooler manifold.
There is 2 ways to run the coolant (Plan A and Plan B), and debate as to which is better... but as long as coolant goes thru the pump, front heat exchanger, and the intercooler, you are good.

Thanks. So basically if I hook the hoses that are circled up to the pipes going to the heat exchanger I should be good right? Also when mounting the fan to the heat exchanger am I supposed to use springs like the radiator fan has? I did not get them in my kit but I saw another person had them on their heat exchanger.

Not sure if you seen that link but it was helpful. I'm actually putting my car on the left right now so I'll take some pictures of my install for you.

Here are some pictures of mine installed. I used quite a bit of the stock tubing from the pump to the reservoir. Use some thread sealer between the white fittings and the intercooler, mine started seeping after a while. You'll also find that your car won't turn off until the fan coasts to a stop even after you turn off the ignition. There's a fix for that as well. I'm doing that tonight and will show you what all the wise members of the forum told me to do. Also my fan is connected with springs, they were included in my kit FYI.

Once your fans hooked up you may find that your card doesn't shut off when you turn off the switch for an additional 20 to 30 seconds. It's the one on the forum steered me to these on Amazon.

I made a little adapter to go between my fan and the harness connection. The stripe goes towards the car harness and not the fan.

In your photo 1, where the clutch hard line exits the tunnel it crosses the LR brake hard line near the T. It looks like they rub and if they touch they will wear through each other, BAD. Put a short piece of fuel line(or other rubber hose) around one(or both) and zip tie them together so the rubber doesn't fall off. That clutch hard line moves around more than one might expect and crossing acts like a saw. Parallel line runs move too but take a loooong time to rub through. They mostly just make annoying buzzing noises. Bon Route!
