I've been calling and emailing back and forth with Rally for almost two weeks now. They keep asking for more and more info. Their latest excuse is they're not happy with the limits on my wife's daily driver Ford explorer. I'm not sure why it's an issue bc that car is in her name and she won't be listed as a driver for the goblin. I'm getting very frustrated. This is the only thing keeping me from registering.
So far I've sent them declarations on 5 cars, my motorcycle, and my boat. Their system pulled up my ex wife and her new husband as a driver in my household. We've been divorced 5 years and haven't shared an address since 2018. They implied I was being untruthful since I didn't mentionan accident I had in 2020, even though their application specifically asked about events in the past 3 years.I understand the frustration, just try and see it through. I know I had to send them a copy of my daily drivers' declaration page for them to cover the Goblin, even though it's completely unrelated. They wanted the names of everyone in my household, insured on my daily drivers or not, of-age or not. I think the total information they need varies by state.
Mine is at underwriting... cross fingers... but the process is NOT easy!Call Grundy or go through an independent that uses them. I had no issues with Rally but they wanted over 1k to insure.
Grundy insured me for just under $300 a year.
My agent is in Ohio and will not insure people out of state, @mike_sno can attest to that haha.
I have a progressive commercial policy. Since the vehicle is owned by my business, that's the route they recommend. They had no issue with the fact that it was not a conventional car. Took the VIN and that was it. I did have to do it over the phone, as the online system isn't built for setting up commercial special vehicles.
It's about $260/year for liability coverage.
I just gave my progressive agent this information and was able to get them to insure my car. I've been a policy holder for 7+ years, which i think helped.I have progressive. USAA told me no. Hagerty ((through Farmers) said yes, but expensive). Geico said no.
Progressive: Make Doyle Fabrication
Model Kit Car Roadster
VIN DFGB0214
Call them and give the the above information as reference. Progressive would only insure if I moved one of my other cars on the policy.
