I've been studying this thread's build photos very carefully because they are super detailed. Noticed that this was done in 2016. For folks doing heat exchangers in the nose, do we still feel that the intercooler water pump is best placed in the nose near the exchanger? I've been mocking things up in preparation for installation, so want to be certain of "current best practices" before I commit.

Pump location should not matter in a closed system. Just depends upon where you want the pump noise, up front by your feet or 8n the back where it's drowned out by the engine.

Better to put the pump after the heat exchanger, although I don't know if the turbo gets hot enough to heat the water that it makes a difference to the pump. With my large heat exchanger over the motor and two fans running on it, I've only seen a few degrees over ambient for my iat.

And you want it to be low in the system also.

I think the nose location meets this requirement as well.

The nose location also helps with weight balance, and there is only a limited number of items we can move up to the front.
