Tie rod ends replace steering rack ends or go on rear?

Was I supposed to use the provided tie rod ends on the rear? I replaced my steering rack ends with them, but I’m thinking that wasn’t correct.

They are now long gone.

The ones with the kit go on the donor steering rack (front) the ones that you take off the rack get moved to the rear of the car.

Your intermediate shafts are on backwards. The ball socket should be to the inside of the car.

Yup. Just bought two new ones from autozone. Worked like a charm.

That’s because at first glance I thought those were the ends that fit into the knuckle.

how far did you thread on the new front tie rod ends? i ran them both down to the original jam nut, but that seems like it might be too far.

You will find that out when you go to set the toe. It will vary for everyone.

Is there a dust cover that goes on the rear link to cover the ball socket?

yes, a little rubber cover.

Yeah, it will be in the bag with the bolts that secure it to the subframe
