Windshield drag

Hello everyone,

Since I removed the windshield this last weekend to prep for wrapping the nose, I took it for a little run (40deg **** it was cold)

With back to back runs from 60-100 where I stopped accelerating, I noticed that without the windshield it feels a lot slicker.

With that line of thought, I wondered about building either a more angled windscreen or something like some versions of the atom use the little bubble teardrop shaped things on the hood.

Anyone else ran both and how did it feel?

This mostly comes because on the track I was hitting 130-140 pretty easy, But if the windshield is creating a ton of drag it might really help to reduce it.

I have not run the windshield as I'm still in the build process.
I do personally would like to see the windshield laid back some. At least to the same angle as the front bars of the roll cage on the track frame to follow the same lines when seen from the side. It's close now, just a few more degrees. I think this would help reduce some drag.

I was planning on either cutting down the windscreen to a wind deflector, removing approximately 1/2 to 2/3 of its height. Something similar to the Slingshot.

Or make one's similar to the Ariel Atom in the pic below. You have to look close as they are small. Just big enough to deflect air just above and to the sides of the helmet. Any bigger and you'll deflect the air up and over the rear wing if your running one. I'm fine with driving in helmet all the time anyway.

Another option would be to have a windshield for the street and the small deflectors for the track. Making the two mountings as easy to swap out as possoble would be the challenge.
But hey, the challenge is half the fun.
