Warning Rant: HP Tuners Disabled 2 of my PCMs

Vwsaabvt
If they have them in their stock - every time I've tried to get a 2/2+ it ends up being a 3 that comes from ZZP (even though I didn't order from ZZP) or directly from HPT. :(
did you order them through Jannetty Racing? I just ordered one, so we'll see what shows up.

I was just in contact with RPM Motorsports (Marty) here in Mesa. He says they are using the HPT ver 3 to modify and write tunes on LNF motors. He has not done any LSJ motors with the ver 3 yet. I dropped him the link for the conversation from HPT with @GoblinGuyZ about them removing the tuning ability and Marty said he was going to contact HPT directly to ask about this.

Ok so update. Problem is resolved. No thanks really to HP Tuners as I would have probably had to wait for who knows how long but as mentioned I found someone with same problem on the HP forum and their support member gave them access to the newest Alpha firmware that is not public yet. After several back and forths they agreed to let me in on it as well and now I can write with no issues so the problem was indeed on their end. I'm more than relieved to be able to actually get it working but I would have to say that I got more help from a stranger on a forum and even in here than I got from HP Tuners after spending over $600 with them plus the cost of the Bench flash equipment and replacement ECU not to mention down time, frustration and time wasted.

I think it is ridiculous that they would intentionally disable an ECU from being able to be written to (their words not mine) and still allow it to erase the map instead of just giving you an error window when you hit write or preventing you from applying credits to that specific PCM which is really what they should have done because it would be just as bad to apply $100 in credits and then be told you cannot write. But either way, the way the handled the whole thing left me with a bad taste in my mouth. So if anyone has an LSJ, download the Beta software as this is apparently what you need for the new firmware and make sure you have the ALPHA firmware (mine ends in .17) installed before you hit write. Oh and it only works when you use write entire because write calibration still gives me the same error.

Yes, a stand alone system. I haven't seriously shopped for one yet, but I am wanting one. Any suggestions?
Anyone want to buy my fully LSJ tested MPVI2 ?

I think almost anything can work. I was thinking I wouldnt need anything ridiculous as I dont plan to add wheel speed sensors and ABS and traction control etc so I was looking at the Fueltech stuff since they also came with a screen. Ecumasters is nice as well. Right now I have an AEM CD5 GPS gauge to add and I am in the process of installing their oil pressure, water temp, air temp and map sensors so I can get basic readings from the dash. I want to do a custom dash panel as well.

The BCM integration on the Cobalts etc are what would be an issue in the car but for the Goblin almost all of that is stripped out. I'm not sure what other systems require the BCM but outside of the power steering cant think of anything critical that cant be wired in separately.

I’m having this exact same issue right now and very confused about the situation. And can’t get my vehicle to write to my car. Do I need to switch it to write entire or do I use write calibration like zzp said to? What happens if I do select write entire and it still fails? Curious and is there a way you can share this new firmware with me so I can get it fixed.
