V1 LeoZug's Montana Street Goblin - '05 Cobalt SS donor

I'm sad I can only up vote this ONCE!??? Well life's not exactly fair now is it? "When" is always an open question. I feel sure it will go and you will drive it, it's just having a little teething trouble just now. Try to be patient, building your own car is a luxury many will never know. You...

V1 LeoZug's Montana Street Goblin - '05 Cobalt SS donor

A trick I saw was to use an old hose off of an A/C recharge kit, screw one end onto the Schrader valve port on the fuel rail. Aim the loose end at the ground.

Ah. B. Normal: GOB-BALT build has Started!

Garage is going up today! I hope it passes county inspection(how can it not?, no power or water, built by pros.).......................... BUT then, instantly, my contractor is going to have to store much of the building supplies for the house!(hopefully not slap full!!? Shop is 30'X50') IF I...

V1 Fuel pump harness connections? 06 SS

My 06 is N/A; SS may be different? Wire colors from harness should be purple, orange, gray and black. I believe you need to use a fuel pump wiring pigtail for a 01-03 Silverado 1500. I think the pumps changed and all newer pumps use that pigtail, old style delete. You need to consult a wiring...

My Son, at the birth of his first child, was confused, "How can I Love My Wife so much and now I'm feeling an equal volume of Love for this new person, my child?"............... I found an answer from a math teacher. He "Figures" that Love just isn't covered by math! "Love is singular in...

Most connectors have the same number of wires both sides of each connector(hint 1)wire colors usually match on both sides/ends of connectors(hint 2). Pull back the tape and convolute tubing and check for wire color match........... I got tripped up by a blue wire and a yellow wire, (I pulled...

V1 Out of storage and won’t start… ideas?

Sadly you're just going to have to run it and watch to see if it happens again....... I had left the ABS computer off my car. It would run for 5-6 seconds and die. I was using the remote start switch. When I finally noticed the ABS cable was dangling loose in the front compartment. Looking...

V1 Out of storage and won’t start… ideas?

Have you replaced that big(50A?) fuse on the feed from Batt+ to the BCM?........... I believe all power to brains(computers) goes through that fuse and if it is rotten it can do funky intermittent stuff(like opening internally when they heat up). I believe it is a common feed to all the brains...

V1 Out of storage and won’t start… ideas?

Harbor Freight(and probably any parts store) has a simple remote starter switch that just clamps onto the starter purple wire and the Batt+ pole on the starter with long lead wires. Easy to leave in place to determine if a problem in the start circuit is blocking start. If remote start switch...

I'm Not Sure IF you can have too many grounds?? I've not worked on systems really under stress beyond stock. I've always heard that electricity always finds the best/shortest path to ground, If a skinny ground is good a fatter one is betterer! Myth? Maybe?........... I always recommend a high...

V1 Ignition switch "kill" wiring (5V reference and 12V woes)

I've read this post through and I did not notice this addressed: The fused feed that runs straight from the Batt+ to the BCM. My thinking is it should be cut as well when the big switch cuts off power? My concern is that Electricity finds it's way around, always. I've no dog in this fight beyond...

    V1 Pisco's extended city goblin #220 (2009 SS/TC donor) Registered

A favorite leak is at either end of the turbo coolant feed or return. The leaks are usually very small and turn to steam while driving and cool off, then virtually seal up soon after running. With a cold pressure test they bubble and show up. Turbo bodies get very hot and expand/contract a bunch.
