Registration and inspection are two separate things. Just go to your local DMV to do the registration. They just won't send out your title until you get it inspected, but you're legal to drive it. I'm going on 3 years and still haven't done my inspection. I guess I probably should get that...
No, you don't really need all the receipts from everything you bought for the car, but you can't just use the price of the kit as the value since obviously a complete car is worth more than a pile of parts. I basically just added a couple grand to the cost of the kit and they were happy with that.
Yeah that's about it I think. Some DMVs do take cards, some are cash or check only. The ones that do take cards will charge an extra fee though.
As far as the taxes go, you pay tax on the value of the completed car, not just the price of the kit. My trip to the DMV cost about $1000. If you...
I really should check the forum more. Did you get yours done yet? I had mine done at JIT Powder Coating in Farmington, I also brought them #231, and referred one other Goblin to them, so they've done 3 that I know of.
Yeah the top end is all stock. Only things in the engine that aren't stock are the pistons and the head studs.
I don't think there's really much more I can show of the fuel system. I was able to get the new pump into the stock sending unit. The fuel rail fitting moves the return line to the...
I've only had them a couple weeks, but they seem to be great so far. I did get a little time on a track with them last weekend and they definitely have some awesome grip. One guy pulled up next to me after getting off the track and all he said was "Holy s*** that thing can corner!".
The price...
Haven't been on here in a while, I've made quite a few changes and upgrades since I last updated this.
Refreshed a spare engine I had with new Diamond pistons and rings, new OEM bearings and timing set, and ARP head studs.
Swapped out the stock supercharger with a Harrop TVS1320. Currently...
I'm using the ZZP aluminum flywheel and GM Performance Parts clutch. All working great so far.
I'm also using ARP flywheel and pressure plate bolts rather than the OEM torque to yield bolts.
I started looking at kit cars because I have a Miata and thought it would be cool to build something like an Exocet. However, my Miata is a Mazdaspeed which they only made a little over 5000 of and it's in great condition so there's no way I was going to use it for a donor car. I started...
I'd also be interested if there's a second batch. I probably would have joined in on the first batch but I wasn't paying attention to the forum and missed out.
Bought Donor May 2nd

That label sheet is only for the wires that need to get cut and extended to join the dash harness with the main harness. While you're taking apart your donor, you'll also want to make sure you label everything you unplug or cut. I just used tape and wrote on it with a marker.
From talking to Adam and Lonnie when I was there, they are planning on making new videos that include steps specific to each model. Probably going to be a while though. Making those videos is a lot more complicated than most people probably realize, and DF is just a small operation.
I put diamond plate on my floor, I had it sitting in the garage from another project. This stuff is thinner though, like 20 or 22 gauge. It's all one piece and I sandwiched it between the floor and the frame.
An ad for this just popped up on my Facebook. Maybe not a bad idea....lol.

Yeah, that's what I thought. This build is for a buddy of mine, we might wire the heated seats in later if he decides to use them. He's probably going to end up using the Recaros that came out of my donor which aren't heated since I have a set of Corbeaus on order.
