Ok, I didn't see any part numbers or measurements, I know my fuel pump is not compatible with the Goblin tank. I bought a fuel pump for a 2005/6 Cobalt. The pump , top is smaller than the one in my 2009. The locking ring will never work. What is a part number of a fuel pump that will work in the Goblin tank? What is a part number of a plug that will plug into the top of the fuel pump itself?

The Goblin tanks are specific to the model. I believe there is one tank for the 2005-2007's and one tank for the 2008-2010's.

So if you ordered a '05/'06 fuel pump but have a kit for a '09 donor it will not fit most likely.

My 2009 had a different style float assembly. It was incorporated into the bottom of the fuel tank. The upper part that the lock ring held in, it's wires were hard wired in through the top of the sending unit. The 2006/7 unit ,about 1.5" smaller in diameter, than the 2009 has a plug that is supposed to connect to it.

Start by adding all the details about your donor to your signature.

There were at least 3 fuel pumps for the 2009 Cobalts. The SS has it's own part number. The LS/LT had a standard and a California/Zero Emissions version. Rockauto has pictures of the various options.

This is my fuel pump. It was like $105 from rockauto back in 2020. Direct drop in.

I'm trying to find the connector. I remember having to take at least two tries at it. I'm recalling it was for a different GM vehicle. A 90s S10 hangs in my mind.
