Garage is going up today! I hope it passes county inspection(how can it not?, no power or water, built by pros.).......................... BUT then, instantly, my contractor is going to have to store much of the building supplies for the house!(hopefully not slap full!!? Shop is 30'X50') IF I can just get-one-little-spot, one Cobalt sized spot, just inside one of MY(emphasis on "my") 3 garage doors? I might can make some progress! Come On!, It's just a teensey weensey car(wafer thin mint{Monty Python reference})! Fortuna!, all the dear Fates!, I cry out to you! Hear my plea!............. This whole thing has been Lucy and the football writ large! Maybe This Time she won't snatch the football away at the last second?...maybe?

I may have building permit pass on Friday? Fingers crossed! I failed to plant a lawn around the building?? NO PASS! Well I've thrown some seed and covered it with hay, which is claimed to be enough. Oh, also apparently I also had to have the gravel down on the front and a note from my Mom!(JK about the note from Mom.) Gravel truck lost it's mid shaft support bearing and almost it's drive shaft. Stationary! It is currently trapped down by the shop blocking further filling of said(currently permit failing) garage with misc stuff not auto related.(Now I get to wait to be abused? Seriously, I've lost count, is this the fourth of fifth circle of He11?o_O)
Then I shall be allowed to inhabit that "space"(what is left of it, while it also plays the part of Building Supply Storage for the house).
Generally things are looking up. The RV cover and sheded patio areas are up now!, but dump pipe, Electric and H2O hookups are not done yet, but in process and to be completed by Saturday!!:cool: WOO HOO!
Then I'll carefully roll GOB-BALT down the hill{with a push car strapped to it, for braking and pushing} and into MY Garage-Ma-Hal! Where many jack stands, floor jacks, work lights, dirty rags and other "implements of correction and repair" await! AHHH! To recline upon my Own, dusty and dirty cement once again! Hello again dear friend, corrugated cardboard refrigerator box, so very good to see you again!
To Paraphrase Poe(not the Teletubbie); Is this all but a dream within a dream?;)

Well September is well and truly here, Progress is our watchword! House slab is poured and things are slowing down on construction stuff. Today I got the chance to grab some of my stuff from storage.
I have years of nova "build up", remnants of my pre house fire life, circa 2017, to be organized and disposed of from storage. Tons of small "car bits" culled from years of combing junk yards looking for the best used replacement parts/ parting out cars. Stuff that only fits 68-74 Novas, I feel sure I will find someone to pass them on to, for a reasonable sum.
All sorts of garage tools(2 hoists and several engine stands) and a few engines, all the way back to 69 stuff. I must have 6 complete small blocks plus more heads, intakes, ex manifolds, carbs and tin than is healthy. 3 LS, 5.3's None of which can I recall their specific histories, dang! I'm no better with Cobalts, I have an extra 2.2 (or 2.4?) from an HHR, an extra F23 and more used axles than a 18 wheeler! Even have a leftover auto trans, I'd give that away, just can't throw it away!
It's all tucked away at a mini storage place just 1.5 hours from the new abode. Did I mention I must drive past Summit Racing to get there?, convenient or inconvenient depending on one's POV! The wife suggested I load all the cast iron, engines and heavy stuff into a rental truck but I feel sure that much cast iron in one load would overload one of those trucks. I expect I would wear out the lift gate! So our family Pick Ups with 3-4 engines each(at a time) seems reasonable. It's not just getting them loaded at storage but also unloaded at this end! Long Days.
GOB-BALT and Old #4 are resting comfortably in the garage, #2 and Toasted SS(#3) are outside close by. All the jack stands are home now so G will be flying low(without wheels looking for all the world like Luke's Land Speeder). Running rear brake hard lines and coolant transfer plumbing should prove easier on jack stands without wheels. I have yet to lay eyes on my creeper? Though a nice chunk of fridge box feels quite sublime in many instances!
Updated my Sig.

I wish I could curry my readers pity just now but that is nigh impossible as we are spending the next 2 weeks in Maui. Poor, pitiful me! Will my suffering ever abate?! House is maybe 6 weeks from final and the garage load of house supplies are dwindling by the day, even in my absence.(but that is what we’re paying a pro for.). I still must shift Nova stuff around and organize it. I have promised myself it will be bought or uncerimonioisly disposed of by July 4. (I would hate to send 3 decades of “junk parts and scrounging” to the dump; but if a buyer does not appear it will shred as nicely as Yugos. We shall see. I have fostered it too long.). I must organize the Cobalt bits and the sq. body and GMT800 bits as well as V-8 Chevy engine stuff. But hopefully by mid January I will get to spend real Quality Time with my victim. I was going to lay off over Christmas anyhow, but it feels like continued delaying. I get to plink and wheedle on bits occasionally, sometimes even fettling! Keeping me about a sane as I ever was. Don’t Cry for Me Argentina!(or elsewhere as you may feel fits)
