What shop did you take this to? I'm planning on doing an initial with a digital angle gauge and toe plates, but I think it would be worth it to have a shop do the final adjustment.
String line should get you very close on toe, but I've never had much luck with toe plates. Camber with the angle gauge should be pretty good. I finally bought the quick trick alignment plates to be able to set castor.
