V1 Engine wire harness question, injector plug.

J
I looked around and couldn't find the answer to this question. Please forgive me if it's out there. I foolishly removed the motor engine wiring harness and an attempt to better clean the engine. All the connections are pretty straightforward except there are two purple five pin female connectors on the harness. One appears to go to the fuel injecting harness, the other I believe goes to the airflow sensor. One of them is only about 8 in before it goes into the main harness the other one is about 24 in before it goes into the main harness. Would someone be able to tell me which one is which? Donor is an '06 SS manual supercharged.

I have another question I can't seem to find the answer to. I had the wiring harness reworked by DF, and I'm not sure if this is supposed to be grounded or go under the positive terminal of the fuse box. Any help? It can either reach the welded stud on the frame, or the positive terminal. Not sure where.

While we're at it, this heavy duty positive cable at the front of the harness. I can't seem to find something to plug it into.

What was your donor? Some years and models had a current sensor that was in-line with the positive (hot) red wire from the battery. This might have plugged into the current sensor? Did you happen to take pictures of the disassembly of your donor? But this is a harness positive and will need to be attached to the battery positive. There should be something in the build videos mentioning this.

Donors in '06 super supercharged SS. I've watched the videos and don't see anything about that particular connection. I look through my disassembly pictures and don't see it anywhere. I'll temporarily put it on the battery terminal and see what wonderful things power up

The connection to the positive terminal on the battery should have another line off of it to connect that plug.
You can see it split on the positive terminal in this picture, but cannot see the connector behind the radiator.

I believe that is the main power supply to the BCM. It is the secondary wire coming off the batt + going through the huge orange fuse and then???(Darn, I don't have a wiring diagram! I cannot remember for sure and do not want to mislead anyone.) On every model of Cobalt it goes to the same place............. I am fairly sure it only goes to one possible place in ALL of these cars/systems. -------DRIVEL ALERT---------As usual I am miles away from my stuff for some easy research and the answer! Very aggravating; as I feel I should know this one off the top of my head!:( Just typing this I have about convinced my self it is the main power feed to the BCM because, process of elimination, main power feed to the fuse panel is the batt + cable. AND main power feed to the P/S is internal in the fuse panel. All power comes from the Battery and goes somewhere! AAARGH! "I Gots ta know!" I guess I'll be tossing and turning tonight.

This wire terminates in the lg red bulk connector at the BCM. I would have to go back and watch the wiring video but I expect the mate to the black plug(on the Red w/Blk wire coming off that orange fuse) connects to it's mate(that was shortened) near the red BCM cluster plug or is in a bundle of wires near the BCM. Now that the BCM and the battery are very close together that wire can't be far away! ...................Worthless Update.................. I cheated and looked up a pic of the BCM and found that wire on the red BCM plug. That reenforced that my memory is correct. Slept like a rock. This AM Ross verified it. Thanks Ross! Now I know my afternoon nap will be excellent as well. ;)

A little embarrassed about that one. When I pulled the harness through the frame that y connection got stuck behind the brake booster and I did not see it so I have that hooked up now. Started another thread I'm getting crank no start but getting closer with everyone's wonderful help.
