V1 F35 shifter adjustment

I have the upgraded shifter setup from DF. Donor is a 06 SS/SC. Having some troubles getting the shifter cables adjusted but wondering if it’s due to a problem. In the rear looking at where the cables hook up. The linkage to the left will not move unless the one to the right is in the center position. If I move that one forward or rearward the left doesn’t move. Does anyone else’s move freely?

The left lever selects between the 1-2, 3-4, and 5-R fork in the transmission. The right lever moves into the 1 or 2, 3 or 4, or 5 or R gear. In between gears is neutral which allows the left lever to switch between forks. Selecting a gear position with the right lever locks the left lever into the selected fork. Your gearbox is working correctly.

The left lever on the transmission is the left-right movement on the shifter. The right lever is the fore-aft movement of the shifter. Each needs to be adjusted to get correct motion on the transmission levers to the corresponding movement of the shifter. Believe there is an adjustment discussion in the transmission section of the forum - use the search function.

God I’m so stupid. I think I just realized what I did. I was under the assumption that the driver side cable at the shifter goes to the driver side linkage at the transmission. I think they are supposed to cross on the way to the rear
