V1 Front IC radiator

Does the front ATW intercooler radiator come with the SS/TC kit or that an add on? What about the fan?

Anyone have pictures of how the hardlines are run/sit in their tunnel up front and connect to the IC radiator? Im just having a hard time seeing how theyre going to fit in the tunnel and without serious problem of rubbing through with some of the rivets that come through the floor pans in the tunnel.

I feel like that should be wired and installed before the main coolant system radiator is installed.

I think I just need some guidence. :)

When buying the SS/TC kit from DF, all of that should be part of the kit and not something you have to select separately. I don't recall if that would be part of stage 1, 2 or 3.

It's probably a little easier to do before the main radiator, but it is possible to sneak it in there after the main radiator. That is the way I did it.

Those pictures do help a smidge, but also raise a question. How does the radiator sit on the cross beam? Are there brackets that I need to find too?

I located the IC radiator in the bottom of the intercooler parts box with fittings inside. I was an odd ball and ordered all 3 stages at once, boxes everywhere.

How did you connect the IC Radiator to the hard lines? I see the fittings that came with the ICR look like they are tapered for maybe an AN style hose. I was thinking a threaded on one side and barbed on the other, just like the hard lines in the tunnel come. Any info on thread pitch or what ICR we're working with?

Yes, there are steel formed brackets that are part of the TC kit as well. They're designed to bolt to holes on the front lower square tube.

There are a pair of barbed elbows that also should come from DF that you thread into the heat exchanger. So, you'll have 2 90° hoses (the hose from DF is somewhat S-shaped, you cut that in half to get your 2 90s). Those will then connect the heat exhanger barbs to the barbs crimped on the PVC pipes with hose clamps of course.

I see the *oily heat exchanger brackets.
I think I see how they mount to that cross beam in those two rivnut holes. I can use that picture gallery to see how the heat exchanger mounts on the ends with the nuts and bolts.
I found the plastic elbows. The metal fittings that came with the heat exchanger threw me for a loop. Do we PTFE tape these plastic elbows to prevent leaks while we line them up into position?
I found the S-shaped formed hose that gets cut into 2x 90° hoses.
I see the hose clamps for the heat exchanger and onto the hard lines.

I think you guys helped push me into the confidence zone. Thank you.

I am 100% positive that they skipped over my intercooler pump. It's checked off on the list/sheet in the box but its definitely not in the box.

Still IC related. Is there any worry about thr hardlines being worn through by these rivets? Thoughts?

Wrap them with several layers of tape or add a piece of rubber hose over them. Good practice to protect anytime you have a question about something rubbing. When in doubt, protect it, or it will leave you stranded at the worst time.

Looking at the exchanger and the now painted brackets this morning, I dont know how they sit on the car. I get how they mount to the exchanger, I think. I cant picture how they mount om that cross beam. * brackets can be moved around, just wanted to set it in there to show I have a basic concept

Yeah, once the brackets are bolted to the exhanger as you're showing, you'll only use the two bracket holes on the opposite side of the in/out ports to bolt it to 2 holes on the square tube of the frame.

What I'm not remembering is if those 2 holes were already there on the square tube. If not, you would need to use self tappers or add a couple rivnuts... Mine is bolted in with rivnuts, but I put a lot of rivnuts on my car so I may have very well put a couple there too and just don't remember it.

Your PVC lines should just slide back, but you need to use the other 2 holes so that it's further into the car. You'll have interference with the radiator, hose, or radiator fan right there.

Yes! @Sebnuts got me in my build thread lol
So here are some revised pictures.
I still stacked my plastic coolant lines and had to change up my 3/4" heater hose routing a bit, but nothing extensive.
I was worried about the floor pan rivets damaging the loom, vacuum line and coolant lines over time. I took a blob of black RTV over each one and have no worries now.

Look about right this time? Just want it to be right for someone looking in the future.
