V1 Fuel pump connector

Does anyone have any insight as to why the wires I have going to the fuel pump assembly aren't even close to what the diagram says they should be? I'm trying to find the pump power to use as a relay activation for the surge tank pump.

That's the same wire colors as the base model pump. Also, that connector was a bit tough to find.

I think mine had different colors that the service manual too (2009 turbo).
