V1 Fuel pump oops!

Yah I was one of those knuckleheads that snapped the fuel pump barb on the top when removing the pump from the donor fuel tank. I thought I was being careful but that plastic was awfully brittle after 16 years of New England weather.

So the big question is has anyone been able to source just the top plastic piece or am I SOL and need to purchase a new fuel pump? I haven't had any luck finding just a top piece and figure I'm going to need a whole new pump. For anyone that has purchased one...any recommendations? I've seen prices from $ 50 to nearly $300 and don't mind spending a little more for quality if it makes a difference but also wouldn't mind saving a few pesos if possible.

Im in the same boat... the clips would not come off the filter. My question would be what pump can you buy that you can get the plastic lines off so you can run AN lines.

I repaired a broken nipple on the fuel pump. It has survived 2 years of driving, with 64 PSI fuel pressure, seems like a solid fix. It was slow drilling out the plastic hole, as the plastic wanted to grab the drill bit, but I use low RPM, and carefully drilled it out so that the metal barb fit, then used epoxy to hold it all together. If you can find an AN pipe the right diameter, you could epoxy that on. I just used a double ended barb that was meant for rubber hose connections.

If u broke the barbs themselves, you're likely better off just buying a new pump. You can then cut the stock lines off and run whatever hose with whatever ends you want from it. That's what alot of us did, there's a thread with Info somewhere.

I sliced off the stock Plastic lines and swapped it out for black braided fuel line with fuel clamps off the pump and installed the QD fittings direct to the other end.

Edit here's the post: https://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/replacing-the-fuel-pump-hoses.567/

You can see the qd ends of my hoses here, my goblin is in in storage or I'd take u a better picture
