Gas leaking

I drove the Goblin all last year and it was fine. Had to change the fuel pump and fuel started leaking out from between the pump housing and the tank. Readjusted and the same. Put a cork gasket in with the o-ring and it stopped for a little bit. Now it's doing it again. Any ideas??? It almost looks like the tank between the bolts is flexing. 2.2 with the 5 bolt tank.

Cork gaskets made today are basically ground up cork mixed with an organic resin and rolled into sheets. The gasoline will eat away the resin and it will leach through the cork gasket. A synthetic rubber gasket is needed in place of the cork, if it is there to take up space for a gap.

If the tank is flexing are you tightening it too much? Otherwise a replacement stock o-ring is probably in order, since that is the intended seal for the tank as DF designed it.

The tank is flexing all over. The side is folding and I installed it per the videos. Dont really like the plastic. I'll look into the rubber gasket. It's just to take up space. I know others have had the same issue.

First time I've heard of the tank folding, are the tank mounting straps too tight? The o-ring leaks are usually caused by not positioning it correctly and/or over-tightening the fuel pump mount bolts. Plastic parts require judicious torqing to not distort the matching parts and the o-ring only needs to be squeezed, not crushed, to get a good seal - and the squeeze must be the same around the entire circumference.
