Houston SCCA Autocross

Rttoys
I had to drive to autocross 40 miles out, as my truck is at the dealer getting some warranty work done. ToxicBill helped me out with chairs and shade and stuff. Fun day at the track and last “cool” day till October

The goblin kind of looks meaner when you picture it in the braking zone. Looks like the front is scrapping the road.

While at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama for motorcycle track days, there was also SCCA autocross going on. When I had time, I went to watch and chat with them. Looks like they are limited to 80 cars. They do 4 heats; work one, run one in the morning, break for lunch, then the same in the evening. 5 runs each heat, so 10 runs total. Nice. No EM cars to be found.

Oh. I forgot. The track wasn’t setup for it this time, but they can use the banked part of the track for autocross.

Woooo 1st place. Easy when no one shows up :D Ran solo today. No worries. Had plenty of passenger that wanted a ride. Fun course. It was hot.

I’m running the same tires. This is my first time on concrete with them. I have almost zero rear cornering grip. Dropped tire pressure, soften rear suspension. Not much changed. I also have the tub subframe. My question is what amount of camber and rear toe are you running.

Rttoys
I’m running about -.8 on rear camber and 1/8” toe in. Mostly sucking it in as much as possible. Rear tire pressure I’m at about 14-15psi.

its hard to generate heat into the tires because we are so light.

you kind of learn to “steer with the rear”
