Just bought a 2020 Goblin... Excited to see it become mine

Stickerdick
Waiting on the wheel store to get my tires and wheels mounted up, spacers/adaptors are sitting on my front porch, DF Goblin has my new steering wheel and hub coming along with fender mounts, fenders are still in fiberglass shop, so I'll have to wait on those, but I'll start sanding the body next week to prep it for a new color, can't work with the grey rhino liner, but I'm excited to see where this goes!

Much happier with these wheels and tires, car drives much better without the oversized tires... Better feedback in the steering. But still needs an alignment

Got my headlights changed out and added cupholders.... Those are essential for a track car, right

Having issues in Florida getting it titled from New Mexico, has anybody just used a cobalt title and vin number to get the goblin registered for street use?

Ross
A goblin is just a cobalt with a new frame and suspension, right? I do know of one builder who licensed their car this way. I'm not sure if it is legal in your state.

After all of the folks getting arrested in Montana for fraud based on the title stuff last week, I don't believe I'll be going that way

I went thr Montana route as im in NJ and no way to get it registered here. There are thousands of people registering in Montana out of state. When you say all folks being arrested? Are you just referring to YouTuber Whistlindiesel?

Stickerdick
What I saw on Fox news was where they arrested several of the brokers doing the title and registrations for folks creating the "fake" LLC's to skirt the laws for registration.

Not saying it can’t happen, but there’s thousands of them in Montana, maybe millions. Hell, I remember a riding buddy of mine back in the 90s that bought his Harley in Montana to avoid the taxes. He only needed a llc and a P.O. Box. I would definitely try to do it in your own state first though.

The wrost part is its not even about avoiding the sales tax for me. Its about my shity state not allowing me to register a goblin.
In ways, I understand why some don’t allow kit cars or home built. You don’t want dangerous junk running down the road, but if there’s a process like we have here in Texas, I don’t see why it’s a problem.

Yea I would have no issues if there was a process. The process here is almost impossible and might as well not bluid nothing. I had started a build back in 2017 and had to sell when NJ made it impossible to register.

No I'm not drilling holes into the chassis anywhere I tend I intend on racing it and I've learned my lesson a long time ago you don't drill into your chassis or you're not going to get approved
Okay, don't weld tabs onto the lower frame either... there is a rubber hose inside there, with engine coolant in it.
You can weld tabs onto the bars that go up from the lower frame.
