Kentucky registration

Any goblin owners in Kentucky that can explain the registration process?

Some background, my car is registered in Ohio as a Goblin with a normal title. Potential buyer lives in Kentucky and had the question.

I would have to assume, already being registered, it would involve the same process as any other car. The buyers best bet is to reach out to his local DMV and ask them.

@jcdman I live in KY, and registered mine new in KY. KY has a documented kit car process for new registration, which was honestly pretty easy for me to navigate.

But in your case, if you have a clean Ohio title, it should just be a standard transfer for a Kentucky buyer. He'd need the signed title, proof of insurance on the car, and completed TC96-182 form, take that to his county clerks office and 5 minutes later he should be good to go. That TC96-182 will also require him to stop by his county sheriff department for a vehicle inspection. The main things they look for are lights (hi/low headlights, tail and brake lights), turn signals, and horn. Pretty much all they looked at on mine.
Do know that Kentucky requires all signatures to be notarized. I know TN doesn't require notarized signatures, but not sure about Ohio (for in state), but when you sign the back of your title to transfer it to the buyer, you would need to get it notarized. Buyer's county clerk office can notarized the TC96-182 when he needs to sign that.
I'd highly recommend a bill of sale as well; not required in KY, but definitely provides protection to both buyer and seller.

If your KY buyer has more questions, send him my way...I'd be happy to help. He can reach me on the forum, or Instagram (@deviant.goblin).
