V1 LNF 5th Injector

S
So as stated in the original post, the reason I want to add a 5th injector is for additional fueling for E85 and to help keep the valves clean.
Would there be any issues with running a 5th injector on 93 pump gas just for cleaning the valves? I understand it will require additional tuning to keep it from running rich, but are there any other problems it could cause?

I don't see how it could harm anything, if the tuning on the direct injectors is adjusted for the fuel coming in from the 5th injector. Might be a little tougher to get everything perfect, since the reason for the DFI was to make the fuel mixture more 'precise'. I would also consider running water/meth for that 5th injector, rather than fuel. Same valve washing benefit and probably easier to get the mixture ratio right - at least there seems to be a little more leeway with the water/meth.

Running pump gas on the 5th injector was more like an interim step. Since the long term plan is E85, I don't want to add an additional tank/pump for water/meth. Plus having a tune ready for pump gas incase E85 isn't available would be nice, without having to mess with the 5th injector controller etc.

Is anyone running the ZZP 5th injector kit on their LNF goblin?
I'm considering picking up one of these for E85 fueling + valve washing and was curious if there were any clearance/other issues with how it mounts to the Evap solenoid port in the intake.
This is where ZZP put the 5th injector on the donor I bought.

It's official, 5th injector is going in the MAP tube.

Did the 5th injector fit into the base of the weldable bung. The injector that came with the ZZP kit (off my donor) is to large. The id of hole in intake is .472 and the hole in the ampefi weldable bung is .435
Curious what weldable bung you sourced if you are able to seat the ZZP injector into the base.
Thanks
Nice welding btw

no need, I was just curious if you remembered the brand and or part number you purchased. I can machine the hole out to fit injector. Appreciate the offer.
Thanks

I'm still trying to figure out why a properly set up EFI system needs a 5th injector when a normal system can be calibrated to handle fueling needs without it. Unless of course the E?FI system is NOT properly set up.... like with too-small injectors...

Yes, the injectors are too small for E85. The LNF is a direct injected engine, and larger injectors are not available (technically there are some Opel injectors that are 13% larger, but that's still not the +30% larger needed to run E85 at reasonable duty cycles).

I bought an 08 SS/TC donor. The real reason I bought this particular donor was because ZZP just built, installed and tuned the motor. It has Opel injectors and ZZP still installed the 5th Injector. Car made 472 at the wheel on ZZP’s dyno. I don’t have much experience with these LNF’s and have never tuned one so I’m listening.
Thank you

Drive the SS a few times and it was a handful because of torque steer. Car would wiggle at 150mph bad!
When I tore it down I realized how stupid doing that in that car was. Steering rack was junk. Anyway, should be fun in a goblin on the track.
once it in the Goblin I will start looking at O2 readings and see what’s up with it.
