Hey guys wanting to keep this thread going, if anyone in Michigan is looking at Powdercoat. I just stopped by the local guy and based off of the pictures I showed him and giving him a rough estimate on the pieces that need to be powder coated. He is saying around $750 for a single stage or base coat and if you’re looking for some thing fancy like a metallic or a candy it’s about $1250. I am still waiting to hear back from the second company.

That's about what I paid. I used Quality Powdercoat in Highland and he was $700 for blasting and powdercoat on the frame and tunnel cover. That was just a coat of Jungle Gray. Nothing fancy.

I dont think I'm making spring. Just got stage 2 and 3 today. Work is potentially getting busy soon and the SOS site says 8 to 10 weeks on paperwork for registering so mid summer is my goal.

It took we 6 weeks. I probably could have gotten it done faster but I was waiting patiently. I finally called and the inspector said oh sorry will today work for you. Then 3 hours later I had my vin

So I reached out to some local powder coating places in the area and I’m getting quotes from $600-2000. I still waiting to hear back from a few but right now DunRight Coatings said $6-800 depending on color and will have to 2 weeks. That’s blasted, primed and coated.

The quote for powder coating is what I'm getting quoted on VA. ($5-800 depending on colors, multistage, media blast, etc.)

Are you looking at colors they have on hand or having them order a powder color you want?

They are all places that use Prismatic but when I get my kit I’ll contact them with the color I want so they can order it if they don’t have it.

On the subject of powdercoat. if you go on the prismatic website you can order free samples of the colors and just pay for shipping. I think it was 8 bucks or so and I have a stack of samples I went through before making my mind up on a color. That's just for the basic color options. If it's one of their custom creations it's $15 bucks for a 4x6in powdercoated sample.

Registered for SCCA today. Saw this event pop up. Might be a good break in for the cars depending on the weather of course.

MI builder here. If you are in southeast MI I highly recommend Jeff's Powder Coating in Monroe. He does great work. I had the frame Illusion blue $800, most of the odds and ends including the floor pan, fire wall, and seat back done for $200 then 400 for the wheels and side panels in grey. Total 1400 for everything.

How many Goblins do we think will be on the road this spring in Michigan? There are a few cruises I’d love to get a group of us to
I'll be out there! I am #347 09' Standard City SS/TC, I am almost road ready. I just started the process to register the Kit. I feel like I am going to run into problems with the bumpers and I signed the title over to the Scrap yard when I kicked the shell of my donor. But the donor was registered in my name as a salvage title. Maybe it won't be that bad. What did you guys do for bumpers, or were you able to get by without?

Please don't forget to document any tips you get along the titling process for other MI builders. As of right now I have:

Donor Title
TR54 printed out
Invoice from DF
MCO is coming from DF

My chassis goes off to powder coat on Friday and will try to get to the SOS the same day to start the registration.
