V1 Oil cooler adapter flow direction

Can anybody tell me which side is in and which is out? I want to assume the left is out to the cooler but I've been wrong before!

I believe the one on the right is from the oil pump. If you take the filter out there is a tube that the oil goes through to the oil cooler then exits the oil cooler to the left port into the filter housing, through the filter than down out of the bottom. Our filters have some sort of hi pressure bypass that allows oil to bypass the filter if the pressure reaches a certain point.

The Ecotec miata guys remove that tube and install a blocking plate to eliminate the oil cooler..

I hooked everything up enough to crank the engine over and the rearward port is in fact the outlet!

If you're looking at it from the driver's side the one on the right is out to the cooler and the left is back in.
