Rear wing

I have kit 465 which I finished in October. 2.2 liter manual. I also have the coilovers from Goblin. When I would drive it and get to 35 or 40, it felt loose and floaty for lack of a better word. Would a rear wing help or is it primarily decorative? . If the wing helps, any recommendations on what to get paired with the Goblin brackets? Thanks.

If the car feels unstable at those speeds, I feel there something a bit more fundamental wrong with the car. If you haven't already done so, I'd make sure the alignment is good and make sure all fasteners are tight.

What air pressure are you running?
Are the shocks set to full stiff or full soft? In between?

The rear wing is mostly decorative, because it is in the turbulent wind. A mid wing and/or front wing is functional.
Wheel alignment is my first suspect. A laser alignment with someone who will spend the time to get it right, is worth the ~$200 cost.
Before the wheel alignment, spend the time to get the A arms level, when the goblin has the seats weighted according to the normal passengers.

Tire pressure, then alignment, alignment, alignment then the Saturn Vue EPS w/controller followed by front wing/splitter.

Yep. I agree with others. It’s sounds like an alignment and/or tire pressure problem, or at least start there. Tire pressure really doesn’t need to be above 20psi from what I have found. Plus, the shock rebound settings needs to be soft for street use

Edited my post to add in tire pressure first.

It is the quickest and easiest to do, as well and turning the shock adjusters. On that thought, when you install the springs on the shocks, move the spring adjuster to where it’s just touching the spring +1 turn. That should give you a good basic set up.

oh. And make sure you have the 400# spring up front and 300# in rear. People get those backwards.

Alignment for sure. My starting alignment was done by the method on the forum however never felt safe to drive over 40mph. I couldn't find any cookie cutter shop that would touch it so i reached out to Winning Formula in Kentucky that specialize in track cars and racing alignments. There was a night and day difference in performance! They are the best for sure in Kentucky https://www.winningformulagarage.com . It wasn't cheap though. $480 when was all said and done. They did do just a little extra work so might be a bit cheaper for someone else. That being said i'd agree that a rear wing is mostly a visual improvement however i have heard that the front wing makes a big difference. I'll also say at least to me a Cobalt base model rear sway bar helps a lot too but i think that really depends on which rear shocks/springs you are using. In my case i'm using stock Cobalt SS shocks.
