I just put on a 160mph cluster. The speedometer will not move while driving, but it will pass a sweep test. Any suggestions?

The tach works
No Cruise control
2008 turbo
I tried three other guages, but they were 140mph.
New speed sensor
All fuses are good

Did you confirm part number was correct? And you are able to read the speed through a scanner? If so, no clue but we likely have the same problem.

I would try putting your original back in and see if it will pass the sweep test. If it does, I don’t have any further ideas. If it doesn’t and your original has actually failed, then likely ithe new one is still not the right speedometer for the car.
The obd2 ones actually work pretty good since using the oem sits so low.

There are 2 cluster technology's. I have ran a 120 mph and a 160 mph cluster in my car, and both worked for me... but both were from a 2006 Cobalt.

I'm starting to think this issue might be caused by an issue in HP Tuners. I finally got a chance to try an IC with the part number matched to the Turbo SS and mine still didn't work. I did find in the service manual that there is a logical test in either the ECM or IC that will default the speed to zero if it doesn't trust the numbers.

I tried changing my settings back to my "original" settings which match the settings it threw through a DTC for the speed sensor and I had to reload tune from an older version to get it back to running correctly. Eventually, I'll probably try HPT support to see if I can work out the problem.
