V1 Video 9 2 Connectors

During wiring video 9 I came across two plugs that I can’t connect to anything. Any guesses what they are and if they need to stay?

I think the black plug is for info and return. It has two wires, a pink wire and a green wire with a white stripe that are needed.
The two wires should extend from this connection to the instrument cluster connecter.

The blue connector was for keyless entry. It is not used.

Lonnie, do I thin out the other two wires from the black plug and only keep the pink and green wires?
On the blue plug, what if I want to keep keyless entry?

I think you will be the first to install doors on a goblin.

You will only need the two wires and you will not need the other three wires.

You can keep the keyless entry. I think the horn will honk and the lights will flash when you press the lock button. The early models don't have tire pressure monitoring so it will not be useful for for your tire pressures.

The only theft deterrent that I know of is the ring that goes around the key to recognize it.
In video 9, when wrapping the steering wires to the bundle the video mentions an anti-theft plug. I do not have one, should I?

The Cobalt key on our cars has PK3+ security built into the key, and there is a ring around the ignition switch which reads the PK3+ key. That reader does have an electrical connector.

Some early cobalts do not have the theft deterrent ring around the ignition switch. Check your ignition switch, if it doesn't have the module around the switch your harness will not have the connector.

It has a plug. Great….. looks like I need to find where it is and where the wires run to on the connectors.

All I need to find is the brown wires end at either of the BCM connectors. For the power wire I robbed the purple accessories wire, any problem with doing this?

I don’t think the purple will be hot without grounding the fog light switch wire. Even then it won’t be hot until the switch makes the bcm hot and I’m not sure if will be hot without the anti theft telling it that it’s ok.

even the other accessories wire we discussed yesterday may not work since that is only hot when the ignition is on.

The wiring diagram shows that wire as full time hot so either run it straight off the battery with an inline fuse or wait until someone with the correct wiring diagrams for your model post the pins.

Going to the battery might be my best option. I’ve already snipped the wires short so I’d learning how to re-pin.
Still not sure what to do with the brown wire, though.
