Why has the build for Goblin #88 stalled?

Multiple reasons, a bunch of personal ones, but also I am an idiot with too many "project" cars. I may get into the others, but the main 2 priorities are:

My 2003 Cavalier:

I lost interest in it 2 years ago and stopped driving it. Just needs the horn fixed and then re-registered and inspected. I'm tired of not having a fun car and this is the quickest to get going. I just charged the battery and it fired right up. The main points are Harrop HTV1320 on a stock 2.2L Ecotec, makes ~300whp on 100 octane. Tons of other mods. The list of what is stock is shorter. 5-speed. My local car club/buddies are putting on a pretty big show in a month and the goal is to take this there and surprise them.

And then what has been my main focus, my old daily driver, my 2010 Lancer Ralliart Sportback.

The engine blew up around this time back in 2022 and I have slowly been getting it rebuilt. Any day now I am hoping to get a call from the machine shop saying that the cylinder head is done and then I'll finally be able to get the engine back together and in the car. For those who don't know, this car is basically a baby Evo X. Same 4B11t engine as the Evo, but with a smaller turbo. AWD with the dual clutch SST transmission. Very fun car.

What extra funds I had that could have been spent on the Goblin, were spent on the Lancer and things kinda got out of hand alittle.

New catch can/coolant overflow, new "budget" fuel system, 1200cc injectors, MAP stainless steel cast turbo manifold, Plazmaman intake manifold, fresh rebuild on a stock EVO X turbo that bumped it up to a 56mm unit that should make 500-550whp on E85 with the rest of the goodies.

The "plan" is to get it running on "low" boost and 93 octane to break the engine in. Then as long as the funds are there, pull the transmission this coming winter and have it rebuilt/upgraded, toss in a full Radium fuel system, and switch it to flex fuel so I can run E85 and "high" boost.

The other "projects" are a 1969 C/10 that I got in high school and tore down to a bare frame. At this point it needs a COMPLETE body. I have had ALOT of engine/trans combo ideas for it over the years but ATM I am thinking that I cannot go wrong with a Big Block and turbo 400. No idea if I'll ever finish it.

And a 1996 Cavalier Convertible. The plan is/was to take the majority of the goodies off the 2003 and toss them on this along with the small horde of extremely rare parts that I have. I tell myself that it should be a quick build since I already have 90% of the parts already. I am leaning towards swapping a turbocharged 2.4L Ecotec into it. MAYBE, I'll try to nab another F40 6-speed for it too.

If I can stay positive and actually accomplish some personal goals this year, I might end up looking into a 1st gen Colorado.(2wd extended cab, short bed). I kinda want to LS swap one with a manual trans, lower it, and wide body it with pre-runner fenders/bed sides. Part of me thinks that it should be a quick and cheap build, but I feel like I should know better.

This is the damage to the cylinder head on the Lancer from the engine failure. The engine jumped time and all the intake valves hit the pistons, but only the valves in #1 cylinder broke and had a party in the chamber.

I finally picked the head up today from being fixed.

I got lucky with using a machine shop that knew another shop that is capable of fixing that kind of damage. Aside from fixing the damage, it got fresh valves and seals, new GSC "bee hive" valve springs, and reused my Cosworth MX1 cams that were already in the engine. The 1st cam cap also broke and is not available without buying a whole new cylinder head. Luckily, I found an Australian shop that makes a billet replacement. This cap caused the most trouble with the rebuild of the head because it is made undersized and requires the cam journals to be line bored to ensure everything is true. Turns out 4B11T heads are VERY tricky to line bore the cam journals.
