ZZP Stage 2 Cams(for turbo)

OptimizePrime
Hey Scott, I did! I installed them (along with other parts) and hit the dyno. I couldn't find out why she was running like such trash after the dyno as my logs were clean and all the other checks were fine - I put down my highest whp on the last run, it was odd.

Long story short, the reluctor on the intake cam spun as it's press fit (doesn't have a key) so when they get really hot the reluctor can move and throw your fueling all off. I took off the Stage 2 and put the Fuel cam on and have been more than happy with this setup. There's also talk about ZZP just buying the Stage 2 from aliexpress (I'll find the link), the Fuel cam is a stock cam that's reground.

I would recommend the Fuel Cam and stay clear of the Stage 2 cams.

Which engine do you have? The factory turbocharged engine's(LNF) and factory supercharged engine's(LSJ) camshafts are different designs. The LSJ is not a direct injected engine, so it does not have the fuel lobe.

Guys, do you think you had a 30hp gain? Also, did you install ATI Damper and a Nuetral Balance Shaft?.. Also, did the streetability change at all?

Tough to say but switching to the Fuel Cam I didn't lose anything compared to Stage 2. I did the ATI Damper but it's a pain to install so I went back to stock on the rebuild. I also have the Neutral Balance Shafts and have kept those, I have solid motor mounts and you can feel the vibrations at idle but otherwise you wouldn't notice.

I would also recommend you get the #80 valve springs from OTTP (https://www.overthetopperformance.com/80lb-Valve-Spring-Kit_p_91.html) if you're going to be spinning her up past 7k rpm.

I have the ZZP Z54 Turbo upgrade. I'm not 100% sure I want to switch to E85 because of the inconvenience of filling it, so I was looking at other ways to get about 30-40hp gain

Guys. Anybody out there install ZZP Stage 2 cams for there Turbo or Supercharged Goblin? If yes, are you happy or any driveability issues?
I managed to get my hands on a ported stock supercharger and while I didn't want to send the extra $ I finally broke down and bought a few extras to add to it while I had the motor out (LSJ). I added the ATI damper, ported head, stage 2 cams, 80lb valve springs, ls4 throttle body, balance shaft delete, and a 2.8" pulley. I'm currently finishing up the tune with Tyler at ZZP and the gains are very noticeable. I'm also running meth injection to aid with the AIT2 temps. The cams Def give it a bit of a chop at idle and it can idle low coming to a stop (likely due to the ls4 throttle body) and it will occasionally stall when not downshifting until the tune is finished. Tip in on throttle from first and second takes a gentle foot bit it is likely due to the telhrottle body as they are well known to exacerbate the issue on goblins (mine was sensitive before the throttle body change). I'm happy with the power increase and everyone's tolerance for nhv and quirkiness differes but for me it was worth the tradeoff. I did add a new lsd transmission, df subframe and the floating brake kit wheb everything was apart so all of the changes at once make just the cam addition hard to single out.

So are we talking about an SS/SC car changed to turbo or an original turbo car? Big difference in cams.

It would be easier if you just added details on your donor to your signature.

SS car changed to Turbo
Still doesn't tie it down exactly, although it mostly answers my question. I don't think the cams for the turbo car will work in the SS/SC or SS/NA engine since the SS/T uses a cam lobe to drive the HP fuel pump. Although it's possible they will swap and the extra lobe doesn't do anything.

I also don't know that any of the comparisons for adding a cam to a stock turbo or stock SC will matter much for drivability when compared to a turbo swap car.

The fuel cam upgrade is specifically for the LNF engine. you run out of the ability to fuel the engine at higher HP especially if switching to E85 and opal injectors. with Z54 and valve springs the 30-40 HP gain you mention over stock should be attainable with a proper tune.

Just for future interest I bought the PNF stage 2 cams recently for a new build and the reluctors now have tack welds to help with the reluctor issue.
