Hi everyone!
My dad and I are getting into the market for a Goblin for a track day car. Looking for a manual, forced induction car that can be registered. Budget is $15-20k depending on the ride! The goal would be something somewhat close to Charlotte so we could check out. If you have one not for sale, but are around the Charlotte area, we would love to come take a look if you're out and about one day.

Let me know if you have anything available. I will also keep searching classifieds.

Thank you!

There have been a few sell in the stated budget price of 86c10 original post. Now to the state of build quality those may not have been totally to your liking, but it's going to be their car and they can spend a million on mods and bling. It's not going to resell for what they would want but - oh well, it's the nature of the car "what the market bears". Base Goblins can go for less than the blinged out ones and the original builders has to eat the cost of upgrades and power adders they built in.

My Stalker V6 was built for the original builders cost of 30,500$ -- He sold it for 19,000$ for kit cost and parts to build. The rest was his labor cost at a ?? hour rate, which well you don't add into your selling price. When I bought the Birkin S3 for 18,500$, the kit was 9000$.. Today the kit is near the 20,000$. A Caterham 620R is near 80,000$. Donkervoort almost 180,000$. They are all kit cars (well, the Caterham folks are still considered original, since they bought the Lotus rights to produce).

It's a specialist car, so it's not everyone's cup of tea in usability, dependent on where you live. In that vane it is like a motorcycle. Rain and hail hurts at speed. And for the ladies riding, I've witnessed severe pain when mascara it gets in the eyes - almost lost a rider forever that day!! The Birkin could be a daily driver, since it has a full hood, doors, heater, heated windscreen. But it is still not practical as a daily!!

My Stalker and Birkin are 20 and 23 years old from built. I can't expect my buy price, but some folks still ask way more. My 1971 Lotus Europa is 53 years old and would cost 35 - 40,000$ to restore -- that won't happen, but it is still a fun car to drive about briskly!!

Yes, I know, -- I can be a morale downer sometimes.

Considering selling mine (#316) which I bought in January. Details on the car are at: SOLD - SS/SC Goblin #316 for sale, NC Title/Registration | DF Kit Car Forum. I am just not using it and thinking about another project. It would be at the top of your budget. Builder said he had about $23k in it and he did an outstanding job on the build. His build log is on here. I have driven it about a dozen times since receiving it and maybe put 50 miles on it. It's super powerful and is show quality. I am just off the I-95 exit to Hilton Head Island, SC.

I have seen this build in person its one of the cleanest around and for $23k I can say that is a great deal as most of us with similar builds are closer to $30k invested.
