My 06 is N/A; SS may be different? Wire colors from harness should be purple, orange, gray and black. I believe you need to use a fuel pump wiring pigtail for a 01-03 Silverado 1500. I think the pumps changed and all newer pumps use that pigtail, old style delete. You need to consult a wiring diagram to be sure..........(wire extensions all in red is not good practice for diagnosis.)

Your picture of the fuel pump connector is not from a stock 2006 SS 2.0
Here is the stock wiring diagram, and connector pinout.

Here's a picture of the whole wire harness. The blue marked end is coming from the fuel pump. There is purple, Grey, orange loose wires unsure where they connect to. And a plug wire with a single black wire connected to it a red short loose wire?

DF modified your 05 wiring harness to have the 06 fuel pump connector... Did you cut that off while attempting to use your 05 fuel pump, and now don't know how to restore the harness to the way DF had it?

Here is your fuel pump sender electrical diagram.
It shows the Pink/Orange wire from PCM connector C1, pin 29. (Low Reference)
and it shows the Grey wire from PCM C1 pin 47, that would connect to the Purple wire on an 06 fuel pump. (Fuel level Sensor Signal)

Here is the fuel pump electrical diagram for your 05 cobalt.
It shows the Grey wire for Fuel Pump Supply Voltage, and the Black ground for the pump.

the 4 way oem connector the loose wires go to. is oem connector on the main harness or the fuse box harness?

I am not understanding you... I'm trying... Give me the high level, assume I know nothing.

the 4 way oem connector the loose wires go to.
What about the connector? This is a statement.

Judging from your last picture, the connector is in your hand, with the wires hanging out of it.
My fuel pump connector wires do head off to the rear fuse box, and are connected as mentioned here.
As far as I remember, there are the only 2 harnesses for the goblin. The main harness, and the engine harness.

I'm a little confused about what is being discussed here. The OP is talking about an 06 SS SC and Ross keep bringing up the 05 as being the donor, original harness?

There's an active discussion on another builder's log with an '05 LSJ with fuel issues, perhaps metaphorical wires are being crossed?

Ah, I think you are right, I am mixing up two different goblins. Although, there is more to the story. Why does Jermiahjhnsn have a loose fuel pump connector?

To some extent you may have been on the right track. Maybe someone installed (or at least tried to) a 05 pump in a 06 car?

Could you follow the wires on yours? I have the end that plugs into the fuel pump, not sure where the other end goes to. Could you trace/follow the wires that go from fuel pump and snap a picture where the they're going to? I'd appreciate it

Ross
My fuel pump wires start at the grey square, go a few inches where the blue connector (radiator overflow bottle full) joins in.
Most goblins don't have the radiator overflow switch, but mine does.
Then those wires follow the thin grey line, and join in with a big harness (shown in yellow).
From the wiring diagrams (I checked, 05 and 06 Cobalts are the same pins) I know that the Purple and the Pink/Orange wires ends up on the PCM, which is that aluminum block on the side of the fuse box. I also know that the Grey power wire comes from the rear fusebox, and the ground is probably the ground lug below it. I didn't unwrap my harness to actually trace the wires... and according to the wiring diagrams, the wires do change color by the time they get to the PCM and fusebox... but you could use an electrical meter, and check the fuel pump wires do connect to their end destinations, and not have to unwrap the harness.
