Living in New York State and registering a kit car here can be very difficult. I decided to register my Goblin in Montana. I then had to insure it in Montana. I recommend using All Day $49 Montana Registered Agent and Mathis Insurance. American Modern is the underwriter.

I got my Montana plates but since I live and drive in New York I feel I should at least have liability insurance. Hagerty turned me down. I don't know why. I have a clean driving record. My regular agent is working on it. I will post when I know more.

Got my plates late yesterday. Seems good to drive the Goblin legal.

Thank you all for the responses. I have called them several times. Last week they said I should be getting the plates any day.

I used the $49 agency. They claim they handle about 75 registrations a day.

I have been waiting since early June for my Montana plates. Has anyone else had to wait this long?

I can't find the link for the wiring harness labels.

I assume that the Goblin will have to pass the emissions test in New York. Any info on that?

I can deal with everything except the wipers and defroster.

According to the paper work I got from the state safety glass windshield, wipers, and defroster are required.

Has anyone registered a Goblin in New York State?
