‘95 Corvette convertible

Worked on the pass seat. It won’t go forward or back and the front doesn’t go up or down. Looks like there’s plastic crap inside that’s fuckled. There replacement parts for it, so that’ll be on order soon. Pit it back together found 2 pennies under the seat. Profit

On the near future list is the cluster when I get the parts this week, then brake fluid flush and new shocks to get ready for autocross in December.

I have been doing stuff here and there as time permits.

the headlights rotate, but clink noises until the headlight module times it out. There’s little 7/16” (basically) plastic dowel rods that turn to powder over time. It looks like this isn’t the first time it has been done, so I decided to cut some old 7/16” drill bits to use as the dowels, Since I’m cheap and all. Ain’t gonna turn to dust anymore. o_O

@Desert Sasqwatch is fuming at this post. He could have drilled so many speed holes with these.

HAHAH that is the exact same setup as my Lincoln power window motors, with the same problem!

I got the cluster LCD repair kit. I went with inverted colors. Instead of red back with black numbers/letters, I went with black back and red numbers/letters. Looks awesome. Wasn’t bad to do. Had to get the old film and glue off, then stick new film in its place. Took longer to clean the glue and make sure everything was completely clean and dry before sticking the new stuff on. Came out great

I can make you “never mess up again” rods if you want me too? It’ll permanantly fix your problem and piss off DS all at the same time. :D

Don’t tempt me. Everytime I look at the speedo display, I’m like, “I really need the kitt solid light or bars here” :D The woowoo light up front might need to be incorporated at some point too

Working on the vette here and there. Nothing much, just the little things. Been just driving it mostly. The door panels are loose from the top. The cause could be several things according to the interwebs, so dive in and figure it out. Basically the cheap GM plastic panels break in important spots, so put on my ghetto fab hat and get after it.

pass side I used some zip ties at the break points to pull the panel back into position. I probably should have made brackets to put in there, but we will see how long this works.

dr side was breakage at different areas. Still zip tied them but has to do it different.

both when back on properly, but GM could have done a much better job at this.

Brake fluid flush
Shocks

Not much to update, just driving the vette. I did replace the shocks. This vette was optioned with a “smooth ride package” I went with the Bilstein B8‘s performance shocks all the way around. Much better ride, even though it’s still pretty rough it’s less rough than before. :D

next is to tackle the pass seat (not moving)

Looking good there. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to start a thread for my old mustang that’s been back burnered forever.

Finally got a chance to tackle the pass seat. Parts are made of unobtainium through normal sources, so leave it to good people with cool toys to step up. Found a guy that 3d prints all the internal plastic piecses, nice instructions and all. Other than being a messy project, it wasn’t really bad. Basically everything plastic was broke :rolleyes:Had to make some marks here and there to make sure everything lines back up for assembly, but that was stated in the instructions And very helpful. Now the pass seat functions normally again.
