These things are terrible for corrosion. You may very well need a press, some heat, and a prayer like I did. If you got it out of car, it should at least collapse some. Maybe first get some lubricant in the splines, or see if you cant clean them out with some air.

Soak it in oil and it will loosen up. They have a very tight tolerance and the slightest bit of dirt or corrosion will cause them not to slide. I was able to get mine to work as good as new. Don’t over-force them, use lube and heat and keep working it. It will free up. If not, buy a new one.

I wrapped a ratchet strap around the front part of the donor and used it to pull the two parts of the steering shaft apart.
