V1 A shout out to the high HP guys.

Yeah A7s are awesome but that price hurts. Also considering e mod is not a popular class in my region I probably won’t reorder them after this set goes.

I bought slicks and wheels cheaper than A7’s for autocross and track this year. Will go with something 200tw of some sort for regionals and nationals in XU (if we go).

Try these and let us know how good they are. The early reports state they are pretty good and on par with some 100TW tires. :D Seeing a lot more focus on the 200TW tire class from tire manufacturers. Maybe less roller skate trying for wear mileage and more performance?

I ran r888's on mine at the beginning and they were great but wore out so fast. I had to replace all 4 every year. Now I'm running Falken Azenis which is a 200 tw, maybe not as sticky but also seems more forgiving when you do find the limit. I got 2 seasons on them now and just ordered a rear set, the fronts are still around 1/2.

I didn’t do much research and I’m running r888r. They are good but very hard to get temp into. I’ll be changing to something else when I wear these out at Autocross

All normal tires are designed for 3000#+ vehicles. Getting them hot in a 1600# vehicle is difficult. I have only got my tires hot on a track day and that’s been it. Tire pressure and tire size become a huge factor, as well as tire type.

Just looked at the SCCA PAX calculator if AM class (which sets pax) runs a 45 sec raw time. In EM you would have to run a 49.1 sec raw time. While if you run in XU you would need to run a 51.6. Raw time. That’s a 2.5 second difference. I think I’m going to switch to XU this year. With what I’ve been reading about the new 200TW tires it’s worth the switch.
What width?

I really liked my V730's except they would wear out quickly. Grip was amazing.
Hard to go wrong with a classic 5-spoke design like the Cobra R. They always look good on just about anything.

Nice. Those wheels will look good on the goblin. Will need a good review on the tires.
The first autox is Feb the 21 so I will know then.
Here is the location for the autox, It's flat and smooth as you would expect being on a heli pad.
