V1 Billet shifter kit

Hello Goblin group,

I'm installing a DF billet shifter kit and noticed that the shifter cables are approximately a foot longer to the OEM shifter mounting point at the tunnel. How are you suppose to shorten these? I'm thinking I have 2 options 1) reroute the cables to the transmission to take up the slack but I'm not sure if there's room for the excess. 2) cut the cable sheath and shorten it but that's a lot of work and if i ever want to go back to the OEM shifter I'd need new cables. Do they have shorter cables?

I have the billet shifter from DF as well. I routed mine after it exits the rear of the tunnel to the passenger side of the engine cradle and made a large bend over to the trans. It tucked up nicely to the cradle and I secured it with a couple of zip ties to keep it from bouncing.

The shifter cables will actually stay in this position on their own pretty well, but the ziptie right above the leading control arm bushing just keeps the shifter cables off the exhaust from road bumps. They're tied to the parking brake cable.

How close are those to the axle? They look like they are rubbing against it. Probably just an optical illusion, but that wouldn't be good...

There's a least a finger's clearance at full suspension droop (rear end in the air). Keep in mind also this is an F23 with the long axle straight from the trans output to the passenger side hub, so if you have an F35 with the intermediate shaft there should be even more clearance here.

It must be an optical illusion in the first picture... It doesn't look like anywhere near that much space!
