No, the sale was over by the time they got back to me and they wouldn't honor the price even though it was still in the cart. I'm know I'm being petty, and rules are rules, but still frustrating. Atk was selling that motor as a complete crate motor for $2100, but I can't find that deal now.

Yes. Some one on the forum bought one and the package said reman but he said it looked new to him. I emailed atk and they said because of licensing issues with gm on this import, they have to list it as a reman. Do you know anything about it?

Jim, that was me. Yes it is a brand new engine, even though it is 'remanufactured' on paper. Considering it comes with everything from the intake throttle body to the turbo you can't beat it for the price.

I worked at a GMC Cadillac store for 10 years and I could totally see that being the case. GM has a bunch of engines to unload from overseas, probably a plant closing, and ships them over here. I’m sure I mport fees on new auto parts are expensive but on “remanufactured” Parts they would be way less.

In either case ATK is a very reputable place. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one.

Do you guys know if the atk motor is sandcast or foam cast. I'm trying to determine if it's a LDK or LHU?

The LNF I bought is sandcast.

Perfect. So that means it should be a LHU. The LNF from our donor is a foam cast, looks like it got hot and stuck to the packing foam that it was shipped in. From the studies I've done, that's consistent with all LNF's. The LDK was then built with higher compression and a few mods, but still foam cast. They then built the LDK as a stronger sandcast block and built itwith e85 compatable seals and called it LHU. It also has a slightly shorter cam, intake I believe. I believe that since the block Tim got from ATK is sandcast, not foam, it's a LHU, higher compression e85 comparable 2.0L Ecotec.

That makes it an even better deal to get a complete motor with the new block for 2 grand. I wish I would have went this way instead of buying a supercharger

I bought the Tinted Digital one

It does have an output to datalog. The full sweep one does too but the range on it is 10-20. Didn’t seem like a very good range to me.
