V1 Brass elbow into master cylinder

Gents,

I'm trying to seal up the brass elbows with red locktite. All of them started leaking when I tried to pressure bleed. I bought new elbows from DF and not sure if thread sizes are correct. They will only thread about three to four rotations before seizing up. Is this how they are supposed to be and I just crank down on them??? Pic shows depth when they start to resist. Thanks!!!!!

Under pressure they will probably leak. That area isn’t built to be under pressure. It’s gravity fed. Do your pressure bleeding, clean up the mess and it probably won’t leak under normal operation

Those are NPT threaded parts. The threads are tapered and will get tighter as the fitting is turned into the cap - which is normal. Do as @Robinjo did and turn them in until they stop turning with reasonable force. Adding sealer (loctite) will seal everything up nicely for little chance of a leak. :D
