V1 DF Tubular Subframe?

Has there been any more talk/progress about a tubular subframe being offered by DF? Most of the stuff I have read is a few years old. I am not sure the state of my subframe yet but good chance it may be rusted badly and need to be replaced. I know there are ways to get a replacement one. I would just prefer a tubular one specific built for the car. So ba

If you'd like to try your hand at building your own there are at least a couple different examples of builder created tube subframes on the forum. Materials and dimensions can be provided - at least by me (see my build log from about page #30).

Nothing new since it was spotted on Justin Reed’s car last year.
My guess is they think the cost will be prohibitive.
Basically correct. It’s really not needed for everyday use. Only the few that are pushing the goblin to its limit and beyond would benefit from a new subframe/lower control arm subframe, but to be honest, an upper control arm eliminating the strut would be most ideal, complimenting the lower setup. so far, only about 10-15 total would “need” such a setup and most are doing their own. DF doing this with all the R&D to get it to their standard would cost a good bit and be out of the range for most builders. Not saying it won’t happen, just its not a priority.

Need and Want are two completely different things. I think more of us would want a more ideal setup, even though we may not need it.

But I see your point about DF putting in the fabrication time on this. They can't know how many would actually buy this setup if offered.

DF has gone through several iterations of the design, but it seems to have gotten more complicated each time. I would make a wild guess that the one on Justin Reeds car would cost $1000+.

Yeah this is pretty much were I stand. Its more like if my subframe is crap I would "want" to buy a tubular one. Honestly more for looks and being new and not used.
I am lucky to have a U-pull it yard nearby and a second one about an hour away, but I won't know how rusty those are till I go see them and you never really know if they are tweaked or not from an accident.

The subframe is definitely an eye sore with all the nice tubular suspension components.
