V1 DJ's South Florida - Standard Track Frame (#286) - 2008 Cobalt LS Manual 2.2L

Haha nice. I only transferred the title on my donor. Didn’t register or insure it. Florida DMV has you sign an agreement that you won’t be driving it on public roads. They have to verify the vin of the car if it’s never been registered in Florida so you’ll have to drive it or tow it to the dmv. I drove mine and they didn’t give me any crap.
Same experience. Mine was a Florida titled car so just transferred the title, no registration or insurance. It took just a few minutes in the office and they mailed me the new title. I think it costed 80 bucks or so.

I did the same thing. Picked up the donor at the dealer in Tampa. Brought the car home on a trailer so I did not even need a temp tag. Dealer did the paperwork for the title transfer & I received my title in a few weeks.

Thanks for the info on the title, I found the transfer title form, just need to goto one of their offices, not sure if I can do that at any of the local tag agencies. I am assuming it will be around $80 + Tax on the vehicle purchase price.

Made some progress today, wasn't planning on starting until next weekend but you know how it is.

Cleaned the engine a little, removed the exhaust, started on the interior and removed the plastic in the front wheel wells.

So I haven't posted in a while here are some pictures of the progress, the donor is completely stripped and cut into quarters. Currently parked in the back yard need to get rid of it.

I got my shifter from the SACTX group buy.

Installed one of two prothane transmission mounts.

Just need to clean up the engine some more and start the wiring harness process.

Thanks for letting me know but I purchased my kit on the last day of Dec (2020) before the new prices kicked in. So it probably won't be considered as the latest kit version. As for the solid transmission mounts I thought that was only for the SS / F35?

I believe I remember reading that they've designed a set for the base 2.2L/F23 combo now, also.

Continuing to clean up parts. Found that the oil pressure switch is leaking and there is oil all over the starter and the area under the intake manifold.

Also because why not, I put my old turbo on the engine. It had been sitting on a shelf for a while, needs some tlc. Eventually this goblin will be turbo'ed but after registration.
