V1 Front Bearing Hub Trimming

Not sure if I am doing this correctly. I thought that I was supposed to chisel out the metal thing here but it seems like I might be doing a bit of damage to the hub:

Here are my hubs. Not sure if you need to chisel out the lower layer of metal.
Here are my new Moog hubs.

Chisel it out. I used spray-paint caps to replace the dust covers. I think I cut them down as small as possible. They have been on for several years now...
