It is a VW something. Mostly VW, but some mixmash parts too. The wheels/tires are off his BMW for now. The “stock” wheels were 13” front 15” rear and next to impossible to find tires for, so he bought adaptors and stuck his race tires from his bmw on there, so he can run it. He’s had a lot of issues with it. Unfortunately he can’t drive it around at home to work bugs out, so his test drives are all on the track. I don’t think he’s successfully made 5 runs with it yet.

C7 Z06 instructor and passenger were fine. Car, not so much

I'm guessing the instructor was along for the ride - bet there was an interesting few words just before the crash, and some even more interesting conversation afterward while hanging upside down.

It was the instructors car. He was driving and had just bought it.

I will say, the goblin handled very well at the track. Over 100mph it was very stable, brakes were awesome (almost too much on mine), cornering had good control and roll, and the tires did their job holding on and giving signs of being at the limit, but never just gave up. Like at autocross, you could slide, but they never just washed out. I think some brake proportioning tuning and suspension adjustments would beneficial. I did bring my experimental rear sway bar with me, but I never installed it. I was using the day to really feel out the car and get seat time without moving things around. Can’t wait for the next track day.

The car that crashed was a C7 corvette. And yes, they had just came out of the pits, so it should have been a warm up lap.

Ready for autocross. I took my truck in for some warranty work and it’s taking longer than normal, so I have to actually drive to autocross tomorrow. And course map

Another wondering day for autocrossing, but I just couldn't piece together an entire run. That and @Rttoys finally corrected his front end alignment.
