How does one determine a sticking caliper from a sticking pedal?
I had a drive recently when I got home the drivers rear caliper smelled real hot and barely let me pull the car into the driveway. I pulled up on the pedal and then I was able to pull into the driveway. Now the car has always kinda had a hangup, but that comes back to my question above.
If it's the pedal, binding or misalignment on the rod between the pedal and the brake booster would be a good place to start. Or your brake booster could have a diaphragm issue with the internal spring is not pushing back enough. Might need a spring on the pedal to pull it back all the way, some have added this when experiencing a similar issue.
It has nothing to do with build quality. It has everything to do with its still a new build and something could be slightly off or settling in. I would check to make sure the booster rod is in alignment with the pedal stud. I would also make sure the pedal pivot/mount area is free and lubed if possible. Then I would go to the rear calipers and see if they are properly centered on the rotors and make sure everything is tight.
the setup for the pedal from right to left is pedal, booster shaft, foam spacer, then retaining clip.
